![]() My buddy made it available to me because he's dang curious about my car and eager to race - he's just not sure which car out of the 8 he has he's going to use So I don't have time slips and didn't get everything written down.Ĭlearly I have a lot to figure out about my car and A LOT of room for improvement. The Fx2 gives 1/8th and 1/4 times, 60ft times, speeds, baking distances, etc by meacuring G-force - really cool little gizmo. I only got 3 runs in cause when we are turning around for the 4th a deputy sheriff was pulling over on the shoulder to nab someone getting off work on the way home Everything I have read on them say they are very accurate for cars running 11's and up - apparently they are off a bit more for the hardcore cars - so these aren't track numbers, but street, on a level straight patch of road in the middle of nowhere. The fx2 is a really neat gizmo to help test n tune before you get to the track. We were going to go to the track last night but the temps were going to be too low and they cancelled. ![]() now about times This was NOT on a track but on the street, using a Beltronics Vector Fx2 Timer Accelerometer that a buddy of mine has. Reviews of the mono split leafs are great for the track, but didn't find anything talking about ride quality, etc. Having done all that reading on the complete caltrac setup there seems to be no doubt left that they will eliminate squatting and improve 60' times - but just not sure what they do to the day-to-day drivability of the car. So, having looked at A LOT of forums and reviews on the Caltrac's, the consensus seems to be overwhelmingly that the Caltracs _ mono/split leafs & adjustable shocks lead to vastly improved 60's and consistency, mostly due to the ability to pre-load the rear. I'll never run slicks on the street - I don't wanna die ![]() Late spring/early summer I'm pulling the carpet for replacement - at that time I'll get the connectors in and do some sound proofing, etc. I hate the thought of stressing the old car and twisting on it and want to make sure I have done what I can do to minimize stress on the ol girl before I run slicks. Not thinking slicks yet because I don't have the sub-frame connectors yet, though I did order a set yesterday. With the track 90 miles away there will be a couple trailers in the pack for whoever might break, so I will have the ability to change tires at the track. The intent for my car is 'street machine', but I run with a crowd that likes to saddle up and head to the track several times over the season for test n tune and midnight drags (5-6 times in a season) though there are a few more serious racers. Hey LR, I could write a book in response to your post
